Atahualpa: A Good WordPress Theme

When I started blogging (some time ago – but didn’t create much content back then) – I used a lot of time to find a great theme for my blog. I never as much as started to blogging and the theme I used didn’t fit my needs. Now I use the Atahualpa WordPress Theme and find it very attractive in many ways! Why? It comes with over 200+ options,  is relatively easy to configure, browser friendly/safe, free, well documented/supported and is one of the most used WordPress themes around.

Why Atahualpa WordPress Theme

I am well aware of that there are a lot of great/good WordPress Themes to find on the internet, but I personally love having the ability to “hack” (modify) it as much as possible and without having to connect to through FTP where my website is hosted! Although I do that also, but mostly because I need to modify a WordPress Plugin to suit my needs (as long it is legal and I am allowed to do that!).

Why not use one of the other FREE WordPress Themes out there? Well, you could start by reading this article to start with?!

You read that? GOOD and I’m glad you came back! Now let’s continue… but you might ask yourself: “But isn’t Atahualpa a free theme too and might be a danger also?” Indeed it is free, but rest assured that this theme is – as most paid themes – not dangerous in any way. The developers provide professional support – as well as free too  - and the theme is Open Source. You can go check the source code for malicious code and modify it!

How to check whether or not a WordPress theme is safe or not?

You can try out with installing the TAC (Theme Authenticity Checker) plugin or doing a simple re/search on the theme before you install it.

Also bear in mind that plugins you might install, could be a potential threat to your blog/website. Always make sure the plugin/theme you install is authentic. Also making sure that the plugin/theme is regularly updated by the developer, isn’t a bad thing!
